Progress

So we are still working on our EP although it is very nearly finished. We have also been working on something else that we may be able to announce very soon and will tie in with the release of the EP. All very exciting for us.
We’re glad people are enjoying the video for Rewind. It passed 1000 views in a week so we want to thank everyone who watched it so far.
In other news my FIFA 11 disc has gone missing. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of the disc or any information related to the incident please contact me as soon as possible.
Time for sleep so I can get up for rehearsals and get ready to play some shows.

Hello everybody.  Just something to bear in mind about the band,  we do put the ‘nation’ intro procrastination, because i haven’t blogged in about 2 weeks,  i am annoyed with myself but i’ll try my best to keep on it going forward.  To start – we are STILL working on our forthcoming EP,  i say working i mean crossing the i’s and dotting the t’s,  i can literally see the light now so not much longer and it will be with all of you lovely people!  If i was one to make a bet i’d say it will be out by the end of June so not that much longer now.  I can confirm the EP will consist of 3 songs with a bonus track, maybe a cheeky little acoustic number so look forward to that.

As the title suggests i am eating a lovely bag of kiddies supermix,in order to keep the creative mood flowing and just because they are amazing.  On the subject of all things sweet we have just released our first video for our brand new song ‘Rewind’, if you haven’t heard it yet then i suggest you all take a look; we’re super happy with it and it looks really good too, all thanks to Martin Izzard and Gafyn Holt of RobotPilotProductions.

We shot the video in the picturesque setting of Kingsway car park in Newport, south wales.  It was pretty cool actually as we were given 2 floors of the car park to use, one being the roof.  The original plan was to shoot half on the roof and half inside but in the end the welsh weather made the decision for us,  hence the indoor shoot only! The car park was booked for 6pm and we had it until midnight; as punctual as we are we arrived dead on time at 6pm,  maybe a bit earlier however didn’t get started until about 9.15pm,  i won’t go into detail,  we have atleast got it done and we’re very very happy with it.  I genuinely feel as if there is a buzz about the new song and the video, of-course correct me if I’m wrong.  The other two songs on the album are also bug tunes so i can’t wait for everyone to hear them too.

Okay well lets wrap things up.  I’ve nearly finished my bag of sweets and i’m starting to feel a bit sick.  The EP will be in all good record stores (mainly online but shh) within the next month.  Until then you have our lovely new video to watch to keep the flame burning.  We appreciate the support so far even if it is very minimal and i hope this will continue once everybody has heard the EP!

Show time.

Friday the 6th of May, today is show day at the Riverfront theatre in Newport, Wales.

I am generally quite healthy i suppose, but today i feel awful, like really bad.  We did a sound check for the show yesterday and i was a bit anxious as i thought i’d blow my voice but it sounded pretty good so fingers crossed. more of the same today.

All things EP related are going well.  We came up with a name for the EP on Tuesday,  ’We’re nearly there’? just an idea so don’t hold me to that,  i think it sounds good though, means something too! The 4 tracks are nearly done,  we’ve done all the bass and drums,  pretty much all of the guitars and 75% of all the vocals,  i can see the end,  ’we’re nearly there’. These are very exciting times for us a band and hopefully everyone will enjoy it as much as we’ve had making it;  its the best songs we’ve ever written so you’d better do!

I can see a video in the distant future also,  picture this scene;  Beach. Guitars. Sweet music. One handsome band and water.  Now thats a good combination and should be a cool video, i assume you agree. The treatment of it sounds awesome and the song is really cool as well so can’t wait to get that out.  Next weekend we should hopefully start shooting.

So i think thats a rap for me, just a quick update to bring you.

This month should be EPtastic and also VIDEOtastic so watch out for those.

Born.

Monday the 2nd of May 2011,  lying here writing the first blog for ‘The Reserve” UK.

We’ve been super busy these past few weeks getting the EP finished, we’ve recorded 4 brand new tracks; i think all that needs doing is the vocals and we’re pretty much done, then it will be sent for mixing and mastering,  cannot wait for everybody to hear it!

With the royal wedding vibes still running through britain we thought we’d do a brand new photo to celebrate and get will and kate in the mood for the birth of the reserve,  just a cheeky snapshot, does look sweet courtesy of Jon Maguire (Editions).

I am slightly biased but personally i think it looks super sweet and sums us up to a tee, cool and good looking, don’t be hating if you don’t agree!

So lets make a date.  Say by the start of June, and yes that is in 2011 we shall have the long awaited (for us) EP finished and ready to sell, some sexy merchandise for you to buy and we will also have a new video for our song ‘You are everything’.  Exciting couple of weeks i believe,  check back here for updates.
